Laura Doell (Wasylyshen) grew up making traditional Pysanka (Ukrainian Easter Eggs) which led to the birth of West Coast Trypillian Art. These tiny white paintings represent the white egg that each pysanka starts out as, while the black acrylic represents the first wax layer carefully painted onto the egg. In this small sample, you can also see the influence of Laura's father's extensive life-long Inuit and Native art collection in her West Coast Trypillian original art. Each piece tells a unique story. Double click to view a video of the detailed work.
